Ganz im Süden des US-Bundesstaats Florida liegt der Biscayne-Nationalpark. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Gebiet, das zu 95 Prozent aus Wasserflächen besteht. Von den hiesigen Stränden, Mangrovenwäldern, Korallenriffen und Seegraswiesen ist es nicht weit zur berühmten Inselkette der Florida Keys und zur Metropole Miami. Schildkröten, Alligatoren, Haie und riesige Seekühe leben hier ungestört.
