CNN Newroom provides the most up to date news as it breaks and is the longest running show on the channel, airing twice a day Monday to Friday and throughout the day over the weekends. CNN has developed a lot since its founding in 1980 by American media proprietor Ted Turner as a 24 hour cable news channel. As an organisation, CNN have won multiple awards, including a network-record six news & documentary Emmy Awards in 2018.
