Die PGA Tour ist die höchste Spielklasse in den USA. Die Turnierserie besteht in dieser Form seit 1968. In der Saison 2008 wurde mit 280 Millionen US-Dollar das höchste Preisgeld aller Zeiten ausgeschüttet. Spielberechtigt sind die 125 besten Spieler der Vorsaison und die 20 Besten der Nationwide-Tour. Weitere 30 Plätze werden in einer Qualifikation vergeben.
