Beschreibung
Barnaby und Troy ist es gelungen, Peter Drinkwater als Drahtzieher einer Einbruchserie ausfindig zu machen - doch er wird bei der Festnahme mit einer Mistgabel im Bauch tot aufgefunden. Verdächtige gibt es viele, denn Peter Drinkwater war ein Tunichtgut und Unruhestifter. Aber wer ist zu einem solchen Verbrechen fähig? Ausgerechnet jetzt wird Joyce Barnaby als Leserin einer Zeitschrift in die Jury des Komitees "Das perfekte Dorf" gewählt und freut sich, dass sie endlich einmal die Schönheit der Grafschaft Midsomer genießen kann, ohne dauernd über "Leichen zu stolpern". Sie ahnt nicht, dass sie die Reise auch nach Midsomer Mallow führt.
