Beschreibung
Im ersten Teil wird die Vorgeschichte der Ramessiden-Dynastie erzählt, beginnend mit dem Tod des jungen Königs Tutanchamun im Jahr 1323 v. Chr., der das Ende der 18. Dynastie darstellte. Echnatons Reformen hatten zuvor für Verwirrung und Unruhe im Land gesorgt. General Haremhab räumte damit auf und bestimmte seine rechte Hand Paramessou zu seinem Nachfolger. Dessen damals gerade neugeborenen Enkel Ramses wurde zum Begründer der Dynastie.
